Samsung wins Korean Series, 3rd consecutive year

It's Game 7 of the Korean Series. Samsung had some luck over the 2 games, winning both of them. They were down in the series 3-1, but the 2 wins in a row caused them to be confirmed to play in the final game of the most important game in the season.
Samsung's starter for today is Jang Won-sam, who won 1 game in the Series. Doosan will be starting with Yoo Hui-kwan, who started his first season as starting pitcher. This will be the most important game as the winning team claims the Series.
Doosan took the first offense when Kim Hyun-soo drove in Lee Jong-wook in the first inning, followed by another hit, a foul ball out, and a strikeout. Samsung attacked back when Park Suk-min hit a sacrificial fly, driving in Park Han-i. Unfortunately, the next batter grounded out to first base, stopping the attack. In the third inning, Doosan took the lead again, when Yang Eui-ji hit a sacrificial fly that drove in Lee Jong-wook the second time. Then a strikeout followed, marking the end of the third inning. Samsung was losing again, but in the fifth inning, after Yoo was switched when he put the Bears in trouble by loading the bases, Lee Seung-yeop hit a single, scoring in Park Han-i for the second time. In the 6th inning, though, this was the real problem for Doosan.
After there was a man on 3rd and 2nd base, Choi Hyung-woo hit a slow grounder to 3rd base. Lee Won-suk threw the ball to Yang Eui-ji, but he threw the ball somewhere else, and the catcher couldn't catch it, scoring in Jung Byung-gon, the shortstop and Park Han-i. Park Suk-min hit a single, scoring in two more runs, leaving the score 2:6. Kim Tae-whan hit a double, scoring a run in, leaving the score to 2:7.
In the 7th inning, shortstop Son Si-hyun hit a homerun against An Ji-man, bringing the score to 3:7. An Ji-man was switched to Cha Woo-chan, and he saved the team from further mayhem.
In the ninth inning, closer Oh Seung-hwan came in a finished the game, leaving the KS to Samsung. Park Han-i was named the MVP of the whole postseason.

Samsung, confirmed to play in Game 7 of the KS

Last night, Samsung won Game 5 with Oh Seung-hwan saving the game, beating Doosan by a score of 8 to 5. Now, they are facing Doosan again in their home stadium, Daegu. If Doosan wins, they win the Series. If Samsung wins, they get to go to the final game where everything is decided.
Today's Samsung starter is Rick VandenHurk, who was responsible for the win last game. Hopefully he will unleash his 'Hulk' power and win this game for sure. Doosan will start off strong with Dustin Nippert, the ace of the team.
The game started with a lead-off homerun from Jung Soo-bin, the star outfielder. This solo homerun caused panic in the Samsung fans, wondering if they will win this. A few more base and balls made the manager of Samsung Ryu Joong-il so jittery that he changed pitchers after the first inning. The score stayed that way until the 3rd inning, when Bae Young-sup hit a sacrifice fly ball for catcher Jin Gap-yong to score. Doosan took the lead again in the 5th inning, when Cha Woo-chan allowed a solo homerun from Choi Jun-suk, putting the score to 2:1.
In the 6th inning, Chae Tae-in hit a homer when Park Han-i hit a single, which brought the score to 2:3. In the 7th inning, Samsung scored 3 more times when Park Han-i slammed one over the fence with 2 runners on base. By then, Nippert was switched to Yoon Myung-jun.
Doosan couldn't do anything to turn the tables, and Oh Seung-hwan came in the 9th inning and saved the game for a total of 3 saves in the Series.

Win: Sim Chang-min (Samsung)
Lose: Nippert (Doosan)

Samsung's Rick VandenHurk saves team, bites back for the win

This year has been very rough for Samsung, as Doosan was one win to the KS title. They might have won the pennant race, but they certainly aren't doing well in the Series. Doosan won 3 times, and Samsung only won once. They must win, or Doosan will. Only one victor will remain.
The starting pitcher for Samsung is Yoon Sung-hwan, hoping to avenge his team's first loss, and for Doosan the starter is No Kyung-eun, wishing to win again.
Luckily Samsung started taking the lead in the 1st inning, when Chae Tae-in, the first baseman, hit a homer over the left fence with 2 other runs scored, bringing the score to 3:0. Doosan fought back in the 2nd inning, when Choi Jun-suk, the designated hitter, slugged one over the left fence, bringing the score to 3:1. The next inning, Samsung balanced the score with the help of Choi Hyung-woo, the main slugger of Samsung. The ball seemed to be attracted to the left fence as all three homers went over the left fence. The solo homer just added to the rowdiness. Doosan miraculously scored when right fielder Jung Soo-bin got hit by a pitch. 5 consecutive hits followed, scoring 3 times. By then, Yoon Sung-hwan was switched to An Ji-man, a relieving pitcher. The score was 4:4 by the time Samsung was able to get out of the inning. In the fifth inning, Park Suk-min drove in Chae Tae-in, allowing them to take the lead yet again to 5:4. By then No Kyung-eun was switched to Kim Sun-woo, a former MLB pitcher. Doosan bit back, with Choi Jun-suk hitting another homer to the right fence, balancing the score to 5:5. By then, An Ji-man was switched out to Rick VandenHurk, another former MLB pitcher. Kim Sun-woo was switched to Yoon Myung-jun, a pitcher who rarely loses.
In the 8th inning, Park Han-i hit a hit that won the game for Samsung, leaving Yoon Myung-jun responsible. He was switched to Jung Jae-hun, who also allowed a score. VandenHurk was throwing fireballs, the fastest being 153km/h to Choi Jun-suk, making a double play to a person who hit two homeruns in a single game. Oh Seung-hwan came in and finished the game for a save, leaving Samsung for a win.

Win: VandenHurk (Samsung)
Loss: Yoon Myung-jun (Doosan)

Samsung: 2 wins and 3 losses

Doosan wins the first match, brings hope to capture the Korean Series title

Doosan has won LG to got up to the Korean Series. But will the Bears be able to beat the Lions? Today is the Game 1 of the Korean Series, with Doosan vs Samsung. Today the Bears' starting pitcher is No Kyung-eun, who has an arsenal of good pitches, such as the cutter and sinker. Samsung will start off with Yoon Sung-hwan, a pitcher known for his slow pitches and decisive curveball.
The game started off pretty rough for Doosan, when in the bottom of the 1st inning, Park Suk-min hit a homer, giving Samsung a good lead of 1-0. However, disaster was sure to follow in the following inning.
In the 2nd inning, Hong Sung-heun, Choi Jae-hoon, Son Si-hyun and Lee Jong Wook hit consecutive hits, while Oh Jae-won walked. The score elevated to 3-1.
In the 5th inning, Doosan struck again, with Kim Hyun-soo hit a homer with consecutive hits, making the score 6-1.
In the 6th inning, Doosan struck for the last time, when Son Si-hyun blasted one over the fence, making the score 7-1.
In the 9th inning, Samsung's first baseman Chae Tae-in doubled to center in an attempt to score. A sacrificial hit allowed Chae to score, but they couldn't score as soon as Oh Hyun-taek came in and finished the game.
The hopes for Doosan is quite high, and many people are looking forward for the next game.
Win: No Kyung-eun (Doosan)
Lose: Yoon Sung-hwan (Samsung)

Doosan surges over Playoffs, LG eliminated

Last game, Doosan beat LG in a tense game by a score of 5 to 4. It was a very tense game. A man on second base ran to home in the 9th inning, and slid home, but catcher Choi Jae-hoon made a good barrier and tagged the runner out, while getting injured from the collision.
Today this is the 4th game of Doosan and LG, with Doosan leading the playoffs with 2-1. The Bears are looking for fresh meat from the Twins, while the Twins are looking forward to show the beasts that they will win.
The starting pitcher for Doosan is Yoo Hui-Kwan, who is famous for his slow fastballs. The starting pitcher for LG is Woo Gyu-min, with an unusual sidearm pitch. This is a little unusual as he is a starting pitcher, and he is not an overarm pitcher.
The first inning stayed normal, but it was in the second inning when runs were scored. Doosan scored with the help of hits and sacrifice hits. More specifically, LG first baseman Kim Yong-Eui made a careless error which allowed Doosan to score.
The score stayed that way until the 7th inning, when LG scored when Park Yong-tek drove catcher Yoon Yo-sup in home, balancing the score out. The relief was temporary, though. In the bottom of the 7th inning, Lee Jong-wook drove in Lim Jae-chul home with a hit. The following inning, Doosan managed to score three more runs when the pinch hitter Choi Jun-suk blasted one out of the fence.
The game ended that way, and Doosan won the game to go up to the Korean Series.

Win: Yoo Hui-Kwan (Doosan)
Lose: Woo Gyu-min (LG)

Playoffs First Game Doosan vs LG

Hi guys! This is TSN Baseball, and the playoffs have just started! Doosan defeated Nexen in the semi-playoffs after a tough comeback, when Nexen won 2 games at the beginning then Doosan won the 3 in a row. Doosan has won 3 games in a row, and they are waiting for some fresh meat from the Twins, while the Twins are looking forward to hunt some bears.
The starter for Doosan was No Kyung-eun, who had a post season record of 1-0 while the starter for LG was Ryu Jae-guk, who had a post season record of 0-0, as he never pitched in the postseason before.
The first inning didn't work out well for both teams. Lee Jong-wuk hit a triple the first at bat. Kim Hyun-soo then scored him in, then another run was scored. This seemed like the winning run for Doosan, but Lee Byung-koo hit a 2 run homer that tied out the score over the left field.
The score stayed that way until the 7th inning, 2 outs and man on third. Choi Jun-suk hit a high grounder, and veteran Jung Seong-hoon went to field the ball. But the ball decided to bounce once more, and that left the veteran missing the ball. This error led to the 3rd run scored.
Jeong Soo-bin drove in the man on 2nd home, scoring the 4th run to secure the victory. Reliever Hong Sang-sam saved the game, striking out 2 people.

Win: Doosan
Lose: LG

Today's starting pitcher for Doosan is Dustin Nippert, who came back after a brief rehab in the 2013 season, while Nexen's starter is Brandon Knight, the ace of the team. Nippert has a record of 12-4, while Knight has a pitching record of 12-10.

How a PostSeason Goes

Hi guys! This is the first article that will not concerning the weekend games. This will be about how the postseason is progressed for the top four teams.

First, the 4th best team plays the 3rd best team for a best of 5 match. The first team that wins three games goes up, with the other team eliminated from competition.

Then, that team faces the 2nd best team for a best of 5 match. The first team that wins three games goes up, with the other team eliminated from competition.

Finally, that team faces the best team for a best of 7 match. The first team that wins four games wins the Korean Series, with the losing team as a runner up.

Even if the best team league-wise loses the Series, the team will still get a pennant for being the team with the highest winning percentage.

Kia won the most Series, winning 10 times. Although they were a great team in the 1980's and 1990's, the tide turned and recently they won only one Korean Series. This year, Kia has a high chance of not qualifying for the playoffs.

So far, the team who won the 2nd most Korean Series is Samsung, who qualified for being in the playoffs more than 25 times, and won the Korean Series 6 times.

Recent polls say that Samsung will win the Korean Series again for the third time in a row, which they won from 2011 and won it again from 2012.

Samsung is probably the most dominant team in the Series, with a winning percentage of more than 60%.

For LG, this is a time when they get to go into the playoffs from a long time, most recently 2000.

9/22/13 Doosan vs Kia

Hi guys! Sorry for the long delay of games, but now we will be jumping on to the end of the season for the baseball players. Today we will be reporting the September 22 games of KBO.

The first game is going to be based on Kia and Doosan, with Kia having Yang Hyun-jong as starter after a tireless rehabilitation period, and Doosan will have Hankins as the starter.

The first inning started out pretty rough for Doosan and Kia, with Kia scoring 4 runs in a single inning, letting all 9 batters hit in one inning. Doosan tried to fight back by scoring a run in the same first inning. In the third inning Doosan scored again, getting closer and closer. In the third inning, Lee Won-suk hit a two run homer to tie the score. Now Kia had to score again in order to try and win, which they did twice in the 5th inning. By then, Hankins was switched with Byun Jin-soo. Doosan fought back, scoring once. Then, Lee Won suk hit yet another homer in the 7th inning, winning the ballgame altogether.

September 8th, 2013 Baseball games 1 and 2

Hi guys! This is TSN Baseball, and I will be reporting on the Saturday games. Before we give you any reports on the games, we apologize for the delay of reporting on last week's games. We are sorry for any inconvenience that we caused. Sorry!

Anyways, we will be reporting four games for Saturday. Stay tuned for the Sunday games.

The first game we would be reporting is the game of Samsung and LG. Samsung's starter pitcher, Bae Young-soo, finally started pitching after rehabilitation from a previous injury. LG's starting pitcher is Woo Gyu-min, with a win-loss record of 9-5. The game started off with Samsung scoring one run in the first inning, while LG could do nothing to turn the situation upside down. Samsung scored 3 more runs the following inning, which finished the game for the day. LG was helpless, and the team went scoreless until the 9th inning. Samsung scored three more times, in the 6th, 8th, and 9th inning. Woo Gyu-min switched out of the game in the 6th inning, but it didn't do much good, as 4 more changes in pitchers occurred. LG managed to score two runs in the ninth inning, as starting pitcher Jang Won-sam came and saved the game, although they couldn't turn the scores around, which let Samsung capture the prestige of being first place with LG.

The second game that we are going to report is the game of Hanwha and Kia. the starting pitcher of Hanwha Eagles will be Yoon Geun-young, with a win-loss record of 2-3. The game started out pretty rough for Hanwha, as Yoon Geun-young threw a base-and-ball to Lee Yong-kyu. Then, shortstop Park Gi-nam for Kia blasted a ball over the left fence for a homerun, which made Kia winning 0:2. However, Kia would not know what disaster would happen next.

The appalling twist of fate started when Seo Jae-eung, the starting pitcher for Kia, started giving up a lot of hits. Kim Tae-whan walked to first, then Jeong Hyun-seok hit a double, which made man on third and first. More walks and hits followed, and a total of 12 batters got to hit in the same inning, and the score flipped to 6:2, which practically gave the game a winning team. By then, Park Gyung-tae came in to pitch the game. In the fourth inning, consecutive hits allowed Kia to move up 6:4, in an endeavor to turn the tables. This only encouraged Hanwha to go further, as Hanwha scored 4 more runs in the 5th inning. Kia retaliated from the help of a hit by pitch, when Kim Gwang-soo came in to pitch the game for Yoon Geun-young. This led Kia to 10:5. Hanwha went more aggressive, as they scored another run in the 9th inning. Lee Tae-yang came to finish up the game, and the game ended 11:5, with the first win to Kim Gwang-soo and the 9th loss to Seo Jae-eung.

Then, Park Jong-yun hit a good one, and one man got on and scored. Then another hit a fly out, letting another score. Then the inning retired with a fly out. LG retaliated in the following inning, letting in a run with the help of two base and balls. The following two innings, LG went on a roll, scoring again and again. By the 6th inning, the score was 7:2. In the 7th inning, LG scored again, and the score was 8:2. The win went to Ryu Jae-guk, with 7 wins and 2 losses, while Kim Sa-yul has a record of 3-5.

8/31/13 no.1

Hi guys! This is TSN Baseball and we will tell you how the Saturday games of baseball went. This is the first article about baseball, and we wish that you concentrate highly on the game highlights.
Before we tell you how the scores went or who was the MVP of anything, there is one important news I would tell you. KBO is finally deciding to play baseball games at Monday, which previously Mondays were considered resting days. Therefore, we could all enjoy a new Monday without having to be anxious to look forward to Tuesdays.
The first game that we would report to you is Nexen Heroes vs. Hanwha Eagles. Hanwha was looking forward to end their losing streak of 4 games in a row. As of last Saturday (August 31st, 2013), Hanwha was 9th place because of their struggling. Nexen, on the other hand, was going on to sweep the Eagles and be a hero to defeat the wild eagles. We will be talking about this game only for this blog.
The Heroes' starting pitcher was Andy Van Hekken, who had a win-loss record of 8-9. Van Hekken was a fairly good pitcher, except for the fact that he is a little slow in pitching. The Eagles' starting pitcher was Dana Eveland, with a win-loss record of 4-11.
The Heroes had a good start in the first inning, when they had bases loaded in the 1st inning. Seo Gun-chang and Park Beung-ho got 4 balls, while Lee Taek-geun got a hit to left field. There was 1 out, when Song Ji-man got a ground out to second base. Then, an unfortunate two strikeouts from Kang Jeong-ho and Kim Min-sung got the Eagles out of danger. In the bottom of the 1st inning, Lee Hak-jun flied out to the left field. Then, Han Sang-hoon got hit by Van Hekken, and went to first base. Then, Choi Jin-heng hit a hit and there was man on 1st and 2nd base. Then Lee Yang-gi hit a double and did a good thing. He hit a double and the score was 1:0. However, before they could score again, two strikeouts followed, and it was the 2nd inning. In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Hanhwa scored again, with a 2-0 score. The score stayed that way until the fourth inning, when Kang Jeong-ho blasted a ball out of the field for a home run. The score was 2:1 now. The Eagles fought back and the score was 3:1.
In the 6th inning, back to back hits let the Heroes score, and the score was 3:2. However, the score stayed that way until the end of the game, and the Eagles beat the Heroes 3:2, with a loss to Van Hekken and a win to Eveland. Stay tuned for the other games for Saturday!
